  After July 15, 2026, please register on-site.
An additional $50 will be charged to all full-day and $25 will be charged to all one-day on-site registrations

EVENT SCHEDULE

Registration – Sunday, 2 PM – 6:30 PM – outside the Morgan Rooms on lower floor of the Courtyard Hotel.  Registration will also be open Monday and Tuesday morning before the conference begins.  Register and pick up program and tickets.  Sign up for picnic transportation.

NABEC Planning Committee Meeting – Sunday, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM in the Oxford Boardroom on the lower level.  Planning Committee members are to meet.

Sunday Welcome Reception – 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM – Morgan Rooms (Included with conference registration for registered Members and Students.  Accompanying Persons tickets $25.00 USD)

Light food.  Meet and greet colleagues, friends, and family before the conference begins.  Please indicate during registration whether you will be present or not Sunday evening for our planning purposes.

Graduate Student Event – 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM – Morgan Rooms (Included with conference registration for registered Members and Students.)

Opportunity for graduate students from different universities to network and enjoy coffee/tea with desserts. McGill University graduate students will have the opportunity to welcome guests and share some insights about the University, the Campus and graduate student life in Quebec.


Technical Conference Sessions and Business Meeting – Monday and Tuesday

Held in the Morgan Rooms.  The conference will feature keynote speakers, technical oral papers, and poster sessions.  Poster Sessions will be in the Courtyard Hall on first level (lobby level) near the restaurant.  A business meeting will be held later Tuesday afternoon.  There will be breaks and lunches for registered attendees.  See the preliminary technical program in this newsletter for more details on the conference schedule and for more information on keynote speakers.

Monday Picnic – Tadja Hall Faculty Club – Campus - 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Separate ticket) Adult - $25 USD.  Child 6 to 12 - $15 USD. Child under 6 is free.

The NABEC 2026 evening picnic will be held at the Macdonald Campus Faculty Club known as Tadja Hall, located on the St-Lawrence riverfront, at 21082 Lakeshore Road in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, a short 8–10-minute drive from the Marriott Courtyard in Baie d’Urfé.

 Enjoy a BBQ dinner of grilled Italian sausage dogs, beef burgers/cheeseburgers or veggie burgers along with salads and dessert while enjoying the water views from the riverfront lawn.  Please register online for this event. We are limited in our capacity to increase numbers at our on-site registration.

Tuesday Awards Reception and Banquet - Cash bar at 6:00 PM; Banquet at 7:00 PM, followed by Awards Ceremony (Separate Ticket) Adult/Child (age 13 and over) - $70 USD, Child (under 12) $20 USD.

The Awards Banquet will take place in Courtyard Hall on the first level near the restaurant.  There will be a Cash Bar Reception at 6 PM.  A plated dinner will be served at 7 PM.  The awards ceremony will follow dinner.

During registration, please select your dinner entrée from three choices: 1. Lemon garlic salmon, 2. Stuffed (spinach and feta cheese) chicken fillet or 3. Spinach & ricotta manicotti.  There will be a salad, dessert and beverages.  Children will be served a dinner of chicken fingers and French fries.

Wednesday Technical Tour (Separate Ticket) Adult and youth, $30 USD

Travel by bus on Wednesday at 8:50 AM from the hotel, tour in the campus area and drive to several sites in the afternoon.  It is expected that the tour will end around 17:30 back at the hotel. Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided. During the tour, attendees will explore ongoing research activities at the Emile A. Lods Agronomy Research Centre (including FieldScan plant phenotyping, robotic crop scouting, UAV imaging, etc.), the Bioresource Engineering shop (equipment for soil mapping, climate impact study, metamaterials and metastructures, etc.), and food processing research. After lunch, participants will learn Hydro-Quebec's green energy history and operation, innovations in agricultural services, including routine soil testing using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, and suburban food production systems.

Monday, join your friends, both old and new, for a tour of Cité des arts du cirque (City of Circus Art) and Jean-Talon Market if ten or more people register (there is an admission fee to Cité des arts du cirque of $127 USD for the group, split among the attendees).  Otherwise, visit Montreal Old Port.

Tuesday, visit the Morgan Arboretum and Ste-Anne de Bellevue.  Entrance to the Morgan Arboretum is Adults ($6.60 USD), Children 3-14 years old ($4.40 USD), Students and Seniors above 65 yrs ($5 USD).
